Thriller in Manila is a documentary film about legendary boxer Joe Frazier and one of boxing's most iconic fights. Using electrifying archive footage and exclusive interviews with Frazier, his son Marvis, as well as boxing experts and team members, Thriller in Manila will also tell the story of the titanic match between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier in the Philippines in 1975. This will be shown with a Q+A at Rich Mix as part of the More 4 fifth anniversary celebrations on Monday October 12th
Fire in Babylon is an inspiring triumph against the odds new documentary of the West Indies cricket team - transformed from underdogs pummelled by their rivals Australia and England into being world class and unbeaten for 15 years. They were the first all black sports team who enjoyed such a glorious winning streak, their story sits alongside the likes of Ali and Jesse Owens as a sporting triumph that also struck an enormous blow against racism and inequality. The film will have its world premiere in Leicester Square at the London Film Festival on Thursday 21st October with a Q+A with the director.
Africa United is another new film to watch out for at the London Film Festival. This is an extraordinary story of five Rwandan children and their bid to achieve their ultimate dream - to take part in the opening ceremony of the 2010 Football World Cup in Johannesburg. During their 3000 mile journey, we encounter an Africa few people ever see; experience an epic adventure across seven countries; and feel the joy, laughter and hope that comes from making an incredible journey together.
The London Film Festival Gala sceening will be on Sunday October 17th in the West End, and the UK cinema release is on Friday October 22nd.
